Done Deal "Insights
from Interviews with the World's Best Negotiators",
by Michael Benoliel, Ed.D. with Linda Cashdan,
Published by: Platinum Press, ISBN:1-59337-262-0,
$19.95
A quote by John Browne, CEO, British Petroleum at
the beginning of Chapter 3 sets the tone of this
book: "You never build a relationship between
your organization and a company...You build it
between individuals."
With that quote in mind, I recommend this book as a
valuable tool for you if you ever have to negotiate
anything (and since that covers everything from
proposing marriage to deciding where to put the new
power plant), if that description hits home, you
need this book.
You will be intrigued with the short bios of some of
our Master Negotiators, but the fun will start with
Chapter 1 where you begin your learning of how to
come out with the absolutely best deal in any
transaction without compromizing yourself (my
words).
There is no one great chapter in this book, they are
all great. From what you need to have before you
begin (Chapter 1) through how to strategize (Chapter
6) to tips on how you (yes, you!) can become a
Master Negotiator. Personally, I think the author
should start a training course in Negotiations and
use this book as a text. It's really that good!
I give this book 4 1/2 stars .
(Only the Bible, Constitution, and Bill of Rights
receive 6 stars.)
